Description of key information

Key physico-chemical parameters for studying the toxicity of a substance in the water column are mainly the stability and water solubility endpoints. Titanium hydride is produced and placed on the European market as a inorganic solid powder. TiH2 is stable and does not hydrolyse in contact to water. In addition, TiH2 is insoluble (<0.1 mgTi/L). Based on these key physchem parameters, TiH2 will not be bioavailable for the organisms living in the water column. Based on this conclusion, all the testings involving organisms such as macroinvertebrates (e.g. Daphnia), alage and fish are waived.
