Executive summary:

A study according to EU test method A.14 as cited in Commission Directive 84 / 449 / EEC adapting Council Directive 67/548/EEC has been conducted (TNO CIVO, REACH RSS, 2017). The test did not show any explosive behaviour under influence of a flame. Furthermore it was not more sensitive to shock or friction compared to m-dinitrobenzene.

Additional information

In accordance with Article 25(3) of the REACH Regulation the robust study summaries submitted 12 years previously, are used for the purpose of the registration.

A study according to EU test method A.14 as cited in Commission Directive 84 / 449 / EEC adapting Council Directive 67/548/EEC has been conducted (TNO CIVO, ECHA RSS, 2017). The test did not show any explosive behaviour under influence of a flame. Furthermore it was not more sensitive to shock or friction compared to m-dinitrobenzene. Thus, the test substance is not regarded as explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with Annex I, Section 2.1 of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and UN GHS Rev 7 (2017) the substance has not to be classified as explosive in class 1.
