Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

One GLP compliant study is available for Disflamoll DPK (Weyers, 2006),

the 72-hour ErC50 (growth) was calculated to be 0.55 mg/L. The 72- hour EbC50 (biomass) was calculated to be 0.27 mg/L. Corresponding NOEC values were 0.11 and 0.022 mg/L, respectively. Two other studies have been reported using diphenyl cresyl phosphate as the test material, (Ueda et al, 1991 and Wong and Chau, 1984). The Ueda et al study gave a 72 hour EC50was determined to be 0.99 mg/L and the corresponding NOEC was 0.55 mg/L whilst the Wong and Chau study provided 4 hour medium inhibition concentrations (IC50) values were determined to be 0.7 mg/L for A. falcatus, 1.0 mg/L for S. quadricauda and 0.5 mg/L for Lake Ontario phytoplankton.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
0.55 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.11 mg/L

Additional information

A 72 hour algal inhibition study, according to EU method C.3, with Disflamoll DPK has been reported (Weyers, 2006). The 72-hour ErC50 (growth) was calculated to be 0.55 mg/L. The 72- hour EbC50 (biomass) was calculated to be 0.27 mg/L. Corresponding NOEC values were 0.11 and 0.022 mg/L, respectively.

A 72 hour algal inhibition study, according to OECD 201, was conducted with diphenyl cresyl phosphate (Ueda et al, 1991). The 72 hour EC50was determined to be 0.99 mg/L and the corresponding NOEC was 0.55 mg/L.

Primary productivity of tolyl diphenyl phosphate was measured in a series of non-standard studies with pure algal cultures of Scenedesmus quadricauda and Ankistrodesmus falcatus and natural phtyoplankton from Lake Ontario (Wong and Chau, 1984). The 4 hour medium inhibition concentrations (IC50) values were determined to be 0.7 mg/L for A. falcatus, 1.0 mg/L for S. quadricauda and 0.5 mg/L for Lake Ontario phytoplankton.
