Additional information

Disodium tartrate is readily biodegradable based on the experimental data. Considering the water solubility of 500 g/L (at 20 °C) and the low log Kow of -4.5 (at 20 °C), the main compartment for environmental distribution is expected to be the water column while the substance will be mobile if released into sediment or soil. Evaporation into air and the transport through the atmospheric compartment is considered negligible based on the vapour pressure of 1.7E-07 Pa (at 20 °C).
