Additional information

The substance hexadecyl palmitate (CAS 540-10-3) has low water solubility (< 0.846 µg/L, at 20 °C, OECD 105), low volatilization potential (vapor pressure < 0.0001 Pa, 20 °C, QSAR, ARChem SPARC, version 4.6), and a high, estimated potential for adsorption (log Koc > 5.0, 25 °C, QSAR, EPISuite v4.11, KOCWIN v2.00). Hence, based on the physico-chemical properties, the substance is expected to preferentially distribute into the sediment and soil compartment. Since the target substance is readily biodegradable (75.3% BOD after 28 d (OECD 301 C, RA CAS 17671-27-1), it is not expected to be persistent.
