Description of key information

Lead has shown to be much more toxic to aquatic invertebrates than iron. The chosen study of a LC50 28.81 ug/L were considerd the most sensitive with respect to realistic pH (6.78) and water hardness (5.8 mg/L).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50/LC50 for freshwater invertebrates:
28.81 µg/L
