Additional information
No information on "irritation/corrosion" is available for the Target Substance. However data on Similar Substance 02 has been taken into account for the assessment. More details about the similarity between the two substances are reported in section 13.
For skin irritation test the skin was tested intact and scarified in one flank of six rabbits and the other side of the body was used as control. Erythema was not assessed due to discolouration of the skin while edema was assessed only at 24 and 72h. For classification purporse the worst value between 24 and 72h was set for the time point 48h. Under the experimental conditions the substance did not show any skin irritation proeprites.
Moreover a study carried out on a further similar substance (Similar Substance 02), whose molecular structure is similar to the one of the Target Substance, shows the tested substance is not skin irritant.
Considering the results of the test conducted on the two similar substances no skin irritation potential is expected.
For the eye irritation test, one eye was instilled while the other was used as control. Conjuncitva, iris and cornea were assessed at 24, 48 and 72h without showing any eye irritative properties.
Justification for classification or non-classification
The substance is not eye or skin irritant and is not classified under Regulation 1272/2008.
