Additional information

The water solubility of 2-amino-6-chloro-4-nitrophenol was determined by following the OECD guideline 105, EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility) and the GLP.

From preliminary tests performed, the solubility of test substance was higher than 10 mg/L (ppm), the flask method was therefore utilized for the solubility tests.

In the main test, three samples (1 g each) of the test substance were weighed into three 250 mL conical glass flask, 100 mL of water, analytical grade were added and fitted with a polypropylene stoppered. The first flask was shaked at 30°C in a thermostatic water bath for 24 hours, then allowed at 20 °C for 24 hours and the liquid solution was filtered and collected. All the procedure was repeated for the other two flasks after 48 and 72 hours respectively at 30°C in a thermostatic water bath. A volume of 20 mL of each water solution was filtered at 0.45 µm and 5.00 mL of filtered solution were mixed to 5.00 mL of the diluted Internal Standard solution and the mix solution was analyzed by HPLC.

The water solubility of 2-amino-6-chloro-4-nitrophenol was determined as 450 mg/L (450 ppm) at 25°C (flask method).
