Description of key information

The surface tension of a 1 g/L aqueous solution of the test item at 24°C deg C was determined to be 69.8 mN/m . Due to the fact that the surface tension is >60 mN/m, the test item is not classified as a surface active substance.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
69.8
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
1 000

Additional information

The surface tension of a 1 g/L aqueous solution of the test item was determined according to OECD guideline 115 and Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.5, and in conformity with GLP. The surface tension was determined with a tensiometer on 3 different solutions of the test item and 6 successive measurements on each solution. The surface tension of 1 g/L aqueous solutions of the test item at 24 deg C was determined to be 69.8 mN/m. Due to the fact that the surface tension is >60 mN/m, the test item is not classified as a surface active substance.
