Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One valid key study is available to assess the toxicity of the registered substance to microorganisms.

In this study, the effect of registered substance on the respiration rate of activated sludge was investigated after a contact time of 3 hours, according to OECD Guideline 209 with GLP statement.

A range-finding test was performed : activated sewage sludge was exposed to an aqueous dispersion of the test item at concentrations of 10, 100 and 1000 mg/L (3 replicates of the 1000 mg/L test concentration) for a period of 3 hours at a measured temperature of 21°C with the addition of a synthetic sewage as a respiratory substrate. The respiration rate was determined after 3 hours of contact.

The reference item gave a 3 -hour EC50value of 8.9 mg/L, 95% confidence limits 6.8 to 12 mg/L. The effect of the test item on the respiration of activated sewage sludge gave a 3 -hour EC50value of greater than 1000 mg/L. The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) after 3 hours of exposure was 1000 mg/L. It was considered unnecessary and unrealistic to test at concentrations in excess of 1000 mg/L.
