Two different tests are available that give information on the short-term acute toxicity of the test substance to aquatic invertebrates.

In the key study the short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates was determined according to the OECD Guideline 202, EU Method C.2, EPA OPPTS 850.1010, ISO 6341:1989, ISO/DIS10706 in a 48 -hour static test under GLP conditions.

For this purpose, 20 daphnids (5 daphnids/parallel) in each tested concentration (control, 6.25 mg/l, 12.5 mg/l, 25 mg/l, 50 mg/l and 100 mg/l) were exposed to the test material and their mobility was assessed after 0, 3, 6, 24 and 48 hrs.

The reported results are based on the nominal concentration of the substance. In a concentration control analyses, the analytical recovery rate was > 80 % therefore no transformation of the nominal EC-values into the values of the concentration control analysis occurred. No immobilisation was observed in the tested concentrations.

In the supporting study the acute daphnia toxicity was assessed in accordance with Annex to EU Directive 92/69 / EEC of31.07.1992.

For a period of 48 h, 6-24 h old daphnia were exposed in synthetic test medium (M4)to different concentrations of test substance (200 to 1600 mg/l). The test was carried out statically, i.e.without replacement of the test water. A count of the immobilized daphnia occurs after 24 and 48 h. The EC50 value calculted under this test conditions after 48 hours was > 1600 mg/l nominal concentration.

The study chosen as key study has a well known concentration respect to the one selected as supporting.
