The fate of 1-chlorododecane has been estimated by using the accepted calculation tool EPISuite. The substance has been predicted to be readily biodegradable by the estimation tool Biowin v.4.10. The majority of the substance will be partitioning in the water or soil compartment. The substance is expected to have a high potential for adsoprtion to soil (Koc and Kow). The estimated Henry's Law constant indicates that volatilisation of the substance from water is possible.

Further evidence on studies with the substance is available as the test substance has been part of the testing program for High Production Volume (HPV) chemicals. Experimental, but proprietary data have been submitted to US EPA under the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA). These data further supports the predicted values e.g. the potential for ready biodegradation.
