PBT assessment
Administrative data
PBT assessment: overall result
- Name:
- 2-sec-butylcyclohexan-1-one
- Type of composition:
- legal entity composition of the substance
- State / form:
- liquid
- Related composition:
- 2-sec-butylcyclohexan-1-one
- Reference substance:
- 2-sec-butylcyclohexan-1-one
- PBT status:
- the substance is not PBT / vPvB
- Justification:
PERSISTENCY (P) :
FRESKOMENTHE was determined to be READILY Biodegradable in an OECD 301F biodegradation screening study.
FRESKOMENTHE is NOT P.
BIOACCUMULATION (B) :
The n-Octanol / Water partition coefficient (Pow) of FRESKOMENTHE has been determined in an OECD 117 test and the LogPow established to be 3.2. This values is well below the LogPow of 4.5 employed for the B screening criteria.
FRESKOMENTHE is NOT B / vB.
TOXICITY (T) :
Aquatic toxicity end-points have been developed experimentally for the base-set studies across three trophic levels - Algal Inhibition (OECD 201), Acute Daphnia (OECD 202) and Acute Fish toxicity (OECD 203). A summary of the determined end-points is presented, below :
Algal Inhibition (OECD 201) -
Growth Rate
72hr ErC50 = 30.6 mg/L
72hr ErC10 = 9.78 mg/L
72hr NOEC = 3.16 mg/L
Yield
72hr EyC50 = 11.7 mg/L
72hr EyC10 = 1.37 mg/L
72hr NOEC < 0.316 mg/L
Acute Daphnia (OECD 202) -
48hr EC50 = 25.0 mg/L
48hr EC0 = 12.5 mg/L
48hr NOEC = 12.5 mg/L
Acute Fish (OECD 203) -
The Acute Fish study was performed as a threshold concentration limit test, where a nominal test concentration of 12.0 mg/L (the 72hr EyC50 value determined in algae) was tested. No mortality nor any sub-lethal effects were observed up to and including this test concentration.
96hr LC50 > 12.0mg/L
96hr LC0 > 12.0 mg/L
96hr NOEC > = 12.0 mg/L
Based on the above observations, FRESKOMENTHE is NOT T.
Taking in to consideration the above experimentally determined end-points, FRESKOMENTHE is NOT P B T nor vP vB.
