The method followed was according to Siwoloboff. The mean boiling point was determined to be 188°C at 972.5 hPa.

Density:

The density of test item 9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs. (CAS No. 97862-23-2)was determined following OECD Guideline 109 and according to the IS 4730 : 1994 (Reaffirmed 2010) – Method for Determination of Density of Liquids (First Revision) using galss pyknometer. The mean density of test item is determined to be 0.9777 g/cm³ at 20°C and 972.7 hPa.

Particle Size Distribution :

The study does not need to be conducted because the test chemical is marketed or used in a non- solid or granular form. 9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs. is a dark green liquid. Hence, this endpoint can be considered for waiver.

Vapour pressure:

The estimated vapour pressure of 9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs. (CAS No. 97862-23-2) at 25 deg C was 1.05E-14 Pa.

Partition Coefficient:

Based on the available data from modeling databases using the KOWWIN V1.68 programme, octanol water partition coefficient (log Pow) value of the test substance 9,10-Anthracene dione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs.was estimated to be 17.19. Thus, on the basis of logPow value, chemical 9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs. can be considered to be hydrophobic in nature.

Water Solubility:

The water solubilitydetermination of test item 9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs.;CAS No.97862-23-2 was done by spectrophotometric method. The water solubility was determined to be less than 0.01 mg/l so it is concluded that chemical 9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs insoluble in water at 30°C.

Surface tension:

In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, the study need only be conducted if surface activity is a desired property of the chemical. The 9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4 -diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs. (97862-23-2) is used as a dye. For this use, surface activity is not an important property. Hence this study was considered for waiver.

Flash point:

The flash point determination of 9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs. (CAS No. 97862-23-2)was done following closed cup method using Pensky-Martens flash point apparatus. The test was conducted in replicates and mean flash point was determined to be 70°C at 972.5hPa. Based on criteria mentioned in CLP regulation the chemical has flash point >than 60 degree C hence the substance was considered to be non-flammable.

Autoflammability:

9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs. did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27°C and atmospheric pressure of 966 hPa. This indicates that 9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs. is not auto-flammable.

Flammability:

9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs. does not indicate any ignition when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of approximately 950°C is brought in contact with it. Thus it can be concluded that 9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs. is not flammable at high temperature. However since such high temperatures are not found under normal circumstances of transportation and use, thus 9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,4-diamino-, N,N'-bis(4-C7-17-branched alkylphenyl) derivs. was considered non-flammable for chemical safety assessment.
