Six assays were performed during the test. Two assays (Nos. 2 and 3) complied with the accuracy criterion. Only these assays are presented in the following pages. A DSC software error was recorded for two assays (Nos. 4 and 5). Another assay (assay No. 6) was made to confirm that neither endothermic nor exothermic peak was recorded from 300 °C up to 600 °C.

Assay No. 2

Gas used: Nitrogen

Ventilation: Yes

Atmospheric pressure: 96.8 kPa

Crucible used : Aluminium, 120 μL, with pierced lid

Mass of test item: 13.21 mg

Program: Phase 1: Isotherm at about 25 °C for 5 min

Heating phase from 25 °C to 300 °C at 10 °C/min

Observation: The observed boiling point of this assay was 192.4 °C. The boiling point corrected to the atmospheric pressure was 194.1 °C.

Assay No. 3

Gas used: Nitrogen

Ventilation: Yes

Atmospheric pressure: 96.8 kPa

Crucible used: Aluminium, 120 μL, with pierced lid

Mass of test item: 13.33 mg

Program: Phase 1: Isotherm at about 25 °C for 5 min

Heating phase from 25 °C to 300 °C at 10 °C/min

Observation: The observed boiling point of this assay was 192.0 °C. The boiling point corrected to the atmospheric pressure was 193.7 °C.

Assay No. 6

This assay was done for confirmation.

Gas used: Nitrogen

Ventilation: Yes

Atmospheric pressure: 99.7 kPa

Crucible used: Aluminium, 120 μL, with pierced lid

Mass of test item: 11.82 mg

Program: Phase 1: Isotherm at about 25 °C for 5 min

Heating phase from 25 °C to 600 °C at 10 °C/min

Conclusion

The mean corrected boiling point of the test item was 193.9 °C ± 0.5 °C.

Conclusions:
The mean corrected boiling point of the test item was 193.9 °C ± 0.5 °C.
Executive summary:

The boiling point of the REACH substance was determined in a GLP-compliant study performed in accordance with EC A.2 method and OECD Guideline No. 103, using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). The mean boiling point of the test item was 193.9 °C ± 0.5 °C.

Description of key information
