Administrative data

Endpoint:
hydrolysis
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is highly insoluble in water
Justification for type of information:
According to the guidance, this endpoint is specifically needed for organic substances and less relevant for inorganic substances. This is because the testing of substances for hydrolysis is relevant to their persistence. Hydrolysis is one of the most common reactions controlling abiotic degradation and is therefore one of the main degradation paths of substances in the environment (OECD TG 111). For a complex inorganic UVC substance, which mainly reacts with water and is nearly insoluble this endpoint gives no useful information. The constituents reacting with w ater form insoluble hydration products. Due to regulation (EC) 1907/2006, Annex VIII, 9.2.2.1, column 2, the study does not need to be conducted for highly insoluble constituents.
