Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Adsorption / desorption:

The soil partition coefficient Koc of 282 (log Koc=2.45) was estimated for Alcohols, C8 -10 -iso, C9 -rich based on the log Kow method in KOCWIN, using the measured log Kow value.

Distribution modelling:

The Mackay Level III equilibration model estimates that Alcohols, C8 -10 -iso, C9 -rich, will partition largely to the soil compartment (approximately 68%), followed by the water (approximately 30%), and minimally to the air and sediment compartments (2 and 0.1%, respectively), based on all available measured data.

Henry's Law Constant:

Henry's Law constant for Alcohols, C8 -10-iso, C9-rich, 6.54 Pa.m3/mole at 20 degrees C, indicates that volatilization from water is not expected to occur at a rapid rate, but may occur at a significant rate.
