Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No experimental data are available for ‘propane-1,2-diol, propoxylated’l. However, for the structural analogues and constituents mono-, di- and tripropylene glycol data are available. Based on the lowest value, the 3h-NOEC of 1000 mg/L (for tripropylene glycol), it can be assumed that the 3h-NOEC for ‘propane-1,2-diol, propoxylated’ is 1000 mg/L.

Additional information

Monopropylene glycol:

Reliable test data are available for toxicity to microorganisms. In a near guideline test with Pseudomonas putida an 18-h NOEC of 20,000 mg/l was determined in a growth inhibition test. Nominal values were reported (The Dow Chemical Company, 1982).

Dipropylene glycol:

Reliable test data are available for toxicity to microorganisms. In a GLP compliant guideline test with Pseudomonas putida an 18-h EC10 of >1000 mg/l was determined (NATEC Institut fuer naturwissenschaftlich-technische Dienste GmbH, 1992).

Tripropylene glycol:

One GLP compliant guideline study (OECD 209) is available for tripropylene glycol. No significant effects were observed at concentrations of 10, 32, 100, 320 and 1000 mg/L.
