Irritant / corrosive response data:
No effects on cornea or iris were observed in all animals during the observation period. Slight conjunctival redness (grade 1) was noted from 1 hour up to 48 hours in two animals or until 72 hours after application in the third animal. Slight conjunctival chemosis (grade 1) was noted in two out of three animals from hour 1 until hour 24 after application. These two animals also showed slight discharge (grade 1) 1 hour after application. In the third animal moderate conjunctival chemosis (grade 2) was observed 1 hour after application and decreased to slight chemosis at the 24 and 48 hour reading. This animal also revealed obvious discharge (grade 2) 1 hour after application.
Other effects:
Additional findings like injected scleral vessels in a circumscribed or circular area were noted in all three animals from hour 1 until hour 48 after application.
