First-aid measures

Inhalation: interrupt exposure and move the exposed person to fresh air. Keep the patient warm. Rinse mouth with water. Get medical attention, especially if cough, shortness of breath or other symptoms persist.

Skin contact: remove contaminated clothing. Rinse the affected area thoroughly with plenty of water, ideally lukewarm water. If the skin is not damaged, you may use soap, soap solution or shampoo. Get medical attention, especially if skin irritation persists.

Eye contact: rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes. Hold the eyelids apart (use force, if necessary). If the patient wears contact lenses, remove them immediately. Get medical attention and specialized treatment, if possible.

Ingestion: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING – Induced vomiting may cause complications (the substance inhaled into the respiratory tract and lungs or mechanical damage to mucous membranes of the pharynx may present a higher risk than the swallowed substance itself). Administer activated charcoal in an amount of 5 pulverized tablets, if possible. Get medical attention. If person is conscious and without abdominal pain, rinse mouth with water and administer 0,2-0,5 l of water.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media – suitable extinguishing media: water mist, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder or foam fire extinguisher. Unsuitable extinguishing media: none

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture – the substance is flammable. Combustion results in nitrogen and sulfur oxides, hydrochloric acid.

Advice for firefighters – special protective equipment for firefighters: fire-fighting clothing and a breathing apparatus. Chemical protective clothing and a self-contained breathing apparatus in case of fire.

Accidental release measures

Safety precautions for the personnel and persons responding to an emergency situation: use personal protective equipment: tight fitting safety goggles, face mask with a dust filter or a respirator, protective gloves, and protective clothing and footwear (or a protective hood with a powered air filtering unit provided with a combined filter system in the event of massive release.

Environmental precautions: prevent entry into soil, watercourses or sewers. Take precautions to prevent rinsing water from entering soil, watercourses or sewers.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: sweep the material into original or compatible containers. Seal, label, and discharge the material to be disposed of as hazardous waste. Rinse the residual material with water. Prevent entry into public sewers as far as possible.

Handling and storage

The substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4).
Specifically the substance is rigorously contained by technical means during its whole lifecycle; procedural and control technologies are used to minimise emissions and any resulting exposures; only properly trained and authorised personnel handle the substance; special procedures such as purging and washing are applied during cleaning and maintenance works, in cases of accident and where waste is generated, procedural and/or control technologies are used to minimise emissions and the resulting exposures; and substance-handling procedures are well documented and strictly supervised by the site operator.

Precautions for safe handling: use the prescribed personal protective equipment. Avoid dust formation. Do not eat, drink or smoke at the workplace. Wash your hands after handling the substance. Remove contaminated protective clothing and protective equipment before entering the dining area.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: keep in well-closed original containers in a dry, well-ventilated place at room temperature.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters: no permissible exposure limits (PEL) or maximum permissible concentrations (MPC) have been established.

Exposure controls: avoid dust formation. Use personal protective equipment when handling the substance.

Appropriate engineering controls: not required.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment – eye/face protection: safety goggles, hand protection: protective gloves, no penetration unless the gloves are damaged; other skin protection: protective clothing and footwear; respiratory protection: face mask with a dust filter or a respirator; thermal hazards: not applicable.

Environmental exposure controls: the substance does not present significant environmental risk. Prevent dust from entering the air. Prevent the substance from entering soil, watercourses or sewers. The substance should be handled in compliance with all regional environmental protection regulations.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: there is no information on reactivity hazards

Chemical stability: the substance is stable when stored and handled under specified conditions

Possibility of hazardous reactions: no data available

Conditions to avoid: no data available

Incompatible materials: no data available

Hazardous decomposition products: dangerous gases, such as nitrogen and sulfur oxides and hydrochloric acid, are produced during combustion or thermal decomposition

Disposal considerations

The substance should be disposed of in a hazardous waste incinerator with a gas scrubber in compliance with regional waste disposal regulations. Containers should be rinsed thoroughly with water and recycled or disposed of as waste.
Waste container: for example, a plastic bag inserted in a paper box.
