Description of key information

This test can be waived because the substance is a liquid / low melting point solid under normal environmental conditions. For such substances, the key measure of the flammability is the flash point (see section 4.11).
Experience in handling and use show that the substance is not flammable in contact with water and has no pyrophoric properties. Tests on these parameters have thus not to be conducted.
Flash point was determined as 164 degree C at 1003 hPa measured by the closed cup method.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on a flash point of 163.9 degree C and a boiling point of 297.0 degree C, the substance is not classified regarding flammability according to 67/548/EEC and 2008/1272/EC (CLP, GHS).
