Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Relative self-ignition temperature:
> 400 °C
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions

The sample tracked below the oven temperature until 351.92°C where the sample entered into a small exothermic reaction. The sample temperature briefly exceeded the oven temperature but as there was no sharp temperature rise this was not attributed to self heating. No self-heating was observed up to the maximum temperature of 400°C.

Conclusions:
The test substance does not self-ignite under the conditions of the test (tested up to 400°C).

Description of key information

In an EU method, GLP-compliant study, the test item did not self-ignite under the conditions of the test. A value of 400°C will be used for the Chemical Safety Assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
400 °C
