Administrative data

First-aid measures

General information

Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately

If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

After inhalation

Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm.

After contact with skin

In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with soap and water

After contact with eyes

Rinse the affected eye immediately with plenty of water at the same time keep the unaffected eye well protected.

After ingestion

When swallowed seek medical aid immediately and show the physician the packaging or the label of the packaging.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

water spray jet

foam

Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons:

Full water jet

Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours

In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2), Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Sulfur oxides (SOx)

Special protective equipment for firefighting:

In case of fire, wear respiratory protection

Further information:

Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Wear suitable personal protective equipment.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Remove persons to safety.

Environmental precautions:

Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil

Methods for cleaning up/taking up:

Take up with suitable equipment and if necessary collect in closed containers

Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly with water and detergents, observing environmental regulations

Avoid dust formation and electrical charging (sparking) because dust explosion might occur.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:

Avoid dust formation.

Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:

Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection

Keep away from sources of ignition

Further information on storage conditions:

Keep container tightly closed, cool and dry

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure control:

The substance should be only used as intermediate under strictly controlled conditions. Therefore, (a) the substance should be rigorously contained by technical means during its whole lifecycle including cleaning and maintenance of equipment, sampling, analysis, loading and unloading of equipment or vessels, waste disposal or purification and storage; (b) procedural and control technologies shall be used that minimise emission and any resulting exposure; (c) only properly trained and authorised personnel handle the substance; (d) in the case of cleaning and maintenance works, special procedures such as purging and washing are applied before the system is opened and entered; (e) in cases of accident and where waste is generated, procedural and/or control technologies are used to minimise emissions and the resulting exposure during purification or cleaning and maintenance procedures; (f) substance-handling procedures are well documented and strictly supervised by the site operator.

Additional advice on system design:

Mechanical ventilation is recommended

General protective measures:

Do not inhale dust

Avoid contact with eyes and skin

Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals.

Hygiene measures:

Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages.

Wash hands before breaks and after work.

Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before reuse

Respiratory protection:

Wear dust mask when handling large quantities

Hand protection:

Chemical resistant protective clothing

Observe the information of the glove manufacturers on permeability and breakthrough times and other workplace requirements

Eye protection:

Tightly fitting safety goggles

Body protection:

working clothes

Stability and reactivity

Hazardous reactions

When handled and stored appropriately no dangerous reactions are known

Disposal considerations

Product

Product should be be taken to a suitable and authorized waste disposal site in accordance with relevant regulations and if necessary after consultation with the waste disposal operator and/or the competent Authorities

Uncleaned packaging

Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste
