Findings

Pre-Test for Safety

When heating a sample of the test item in an open test tube (10*100 mm) in an aluminium block with a gas burner, formation of bubbles was observed at approx. 210 °C. The bubble chain broke at 202 °C. No signs of change were visible after cooling down.

Evaluation and Result

The flash point is given as the mean value of the duplicate determination. The measured flash point is therefore 65.5°C (corresponding to 338.7K) at 101325 Pa.

Discussion

The difference between the two values which were measured was below 2 °C. For this reason, the determination was considered valid.
