First-aid measures

In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

Inhalation: Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.

Skin contact: Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before use. If skin or rash occur, get medical advice/attention.

Eye contact: Flush eyes with plenty of water at least 15 minutes, occasionnally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid immediately.

Ingestion: If victim is conscious and alers, give 2-4 cupfuls milk or water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, or appopriate foam.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: not available.

Irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combusion.

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent, and full protective gear.

Accidental release measures

Absorb spill with inert material (eg dry sand or earth) then place into a chemical waste container. Clean up immediately, using the appropriate protective equipment. Remove all sources of ignition. Use spark-proof tool. Provide ventilation. A vapor supressing foam may be used to reduce vapors.

Don't use a brush or compressed air for cleaning surfaces or clothing.

Clear spills immediately.

Do not allow material to be released to the environment without proper governmental permits.

Handling and storage

Wash thoroughly after handling. Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing dust, vapor, mist or gas. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Keep container tighthly closed. Store protected from light.

Do not eat, drink and smoke in work areas. Wash hands after use. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.

Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Keep away from sources of ignition. Store in a tighly closed container. Store in a cool. dry, well ventilated area away from incompatible substances. Flammable areas.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls:

Good general ventilation should be sufficient to control airborne levels. Ventilation is normally required when handling or using this product. Eyewash fountains should be provided in areas where there is any possibility that workers could be exposed to the substance. Follow safe industrial engineering / laboratory practices when handling any chemical.

PPEs:

Respiration protection: vapor respirator. Be sure to use MSHA/NIOSH approved respirator or equivalent

Hand protection: wear protective gloves.

Eye protection: splash goggles.

Skin and body protection: lab coat.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability: stable under recommended storage conditions

Possibility of hazardous reactions: in use, may form flammable/explosive vapor-air mixture

Conditions to avoid: avoid excessive heat and light

Incompatible materials: oxidizing agents, reducing agents, strong bases

Disposal considerations

Recycle to process if possible. It is the generator's responsibility to comply with Federal, State and local rules and regulations. You may be able to dissolve or mix material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber system. This section is intended to provide assistance but does not replace these laws, nor does compliance in accordance with this section ensure regulatory compliance according to the law.  The product should not be allowed to enter the environment, drains, water ways, or the soil.

Dispose the container as unused product. Do not re-use empty containers.
