Additional information

Skin irritation / corrosion:

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex VII, section 8.1, an in vitro study for skin irritation / corrosion does not need to be conducted if the substance is a strong acid (pH ≤ 2). The test item is a strong acid with pH ≤ 2. Therefore, the test item is classified as skin corrosive (Cat. 1 (H314) according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP).

Eye irrtation:

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex VII, section 8.2, an in vitro study for eye irritation does not need to be conducted if the available information indicates that the criteria are met for classification as corrosive to the skin. The test item is classified as skin corrosive (Cat. 1 (H314) according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

The test item is classified as skin corrosive (Cat. 1 (H314) in accordance with section 3.2.2.2 of the Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), as amended for the tenth time in Regulation (EU) No 2017/776.
