Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
other: The test item only burnt over a distance of about 70 mm applying a flame as ignition source for at least 2 minutes

Any other information on results incl. tables

In the preliminary test the test item did not burn over the distance of 200 mm. Thus, the main test has not to be performed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The test item has not to be classified as readily combustible solid in Class 4, Division 4.1 according to the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods and has not to be classified as flammable solid according to Regulation (EC) no 1271/2008.

Executive summary:

The objective of this study was the determination of the flammability of solids of the test item according to

Recommendations on the TRANSPORT OF DANGEROUS GOODS: Manual of Tests and Criteria, 6thedition, New York and Geneva, 2015: Appendix 6, Class 4, Division 4.1: Readily Combustible Solids, Test N.1.

The test item only burnt over a distance of 70 mm applying a flame as ignition source for at least 2 minutes.

Thus, the test item has not to be classified as flammable solid according to Regulation (EC) no 1272/2008.
