Description of key information

According to section 1 REACH Annex XI a study does not need to be conducted, as the substance is marketed as an aqueous solution only and the vapour pressure is expected to be in the same range of pure water. The data from manufactures proved this expectation and the vapour pressure of SMBT aqueous solutions is very close to 23 hPa (20°C).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A vapour pressure of 32 hPa (25°C) was reported by Flexsys for a 45 - 50 % solution; and 107 hPa (50°C) was reported by Lanxess for 50 % solution and 23 hPa for 30 % solution.
