Results and discussion

Effect concentrations
Key result
Duration:
28 d
Dose descriptor:
NOEC
Effect conc.:
>= 2 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
nominal
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
other: inhibition of activated sludge respiration
Details on results:
Bacterial plate counts at termination (Day 28) showed that the control, reference, and hydrogenated jojoba oil test substance treatments contained 2.2 × 104, 4.6 × 104, and 9.1 × 104 CFU/mL, respectively and indicated that the microbial inoculum remained consistent through the study and across the sample types. No inhibition was observed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
no
Conclusions:
A NOEC (28 days) of 2 mg/L (nominal) can be reported for the inhibition of activated sludge respiration for Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil
