An atmospheric half-life of 0.23 days for the phototransformation of ethanethiol has been taken from Barnes (1986). This is a non-GLP, non-guideline published study, and the method, which follows scientific principles, was tested using the reaction of n-butane, n-hexane and propene with OH relative to the reaction of ethene with OH. The authors also compared the results of the test to available literature values. Ethanethiol is not expected to hydrolyse in the environment, due to a lack of functional groups.
