Description of key information

There are no long-term toxicity studies available for fish exposed to tripropylene glycol n-butly ether highers (TPnB-H).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Triproplylene glycol n-butyl ether highers (TPnB-H) is classified as readily biodegradable with a low potential for bioaccumulation. The risk assessment shows that the PEC/PNEC ratio is clearly < 1 in surface water, indicating no need for further information or testing. According to REACH Annex IX requirements, long-term toxicity testing shall only be considered when the chemical safety assessment indicates the need for further investigations. Hence, long-term testing in fish can be waived for TPnB-H.
