First-aid measures

General advice : In the case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the msds where possible).
Move out of dangerous area. First aider needs to protect himself.
If inhaled : Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm.
In case of skin contact : Wash with polyethylene 400 and then with plenty of cold water.
In case of eye contact : Rinse the affected eye with plenty of water, at the same time keep the unaffected eye well protected.
If swallowed : If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show the msds or label.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media : alcohol-resistant foam, Dry powder, Water spray jet, Carbon dioxide (CO2). Standard procedure for chemical fires. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.
Unsuitable extinguishing media : High volume water jet
In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2), Phosphorous compounds. Under certain
conditions of combustion traces of other toxic substances cannot be excluded.
Special protective equipment for firefighters: Do not inhale explosion and/or combustion gases Use selfcontained breathing apparatus.
Please observe escape and rescue routes!

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If contamination cannot be excluded, use personal protective clothing.
Environmental precautions : Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil. Contain contaminated water/firefighting water.
Methods for cleaning up : Take up with care. Avoid raising dust. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing
environmental regulations. When picked up, treat material as prescribed under heading "Disposal".
Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled.

Handling and storage

The product should be handled under strictly controlled conditions as defined in Article 18 (4) REACH.
Advice on safe handling : Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion : Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection.
Hygiene measures : Avoid contact of the substance. Do not eat, drink or smoke during work time. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again. Garments that cannot be cleaned must be destroyed (burnt). Keep away from food and drink. Clean hands and face during work intervals and after work.
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Protect from heat and direct sunlight.
Do not store or transport together with foodstuffs

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures: Handle product only in closed system. The product should be handled under strictly controlled conditions as defined in Article 18 (4) REACH. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Eye protection : Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166
Hand protection : Choose gloves to protect hands against chemicals depending on the concentration and quantity of the hazardous substance
and specific to place of work. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it (or or similar). Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact).
Suitable: Nitrile rubber gloves. Butyl rubber gloves. When handling hot material, use heat resistant gloves. With solid dry substances permeation is not to be expected, therefore the breakthrough-time for this protective glove has not been measured. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough. Gloves must be rinsed thoroughly after use.
Skin and body protection : Choose body protection in relation to its type, to the concentration and amount of dangerous substances, and to the specific work-place. Long sleeved clothing. Wear as appropriate: Lightweight protective clothing. Disposable suit.
Respiratory protection : No personal respiratory protective equipment normally required. If exposure to dust or fumes cannot be excluded use a respiratory protection mask type P1 or A-P1.

Environmental exposure controls:
General advice : Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil. Contain contaminated water/firefighting water.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.
Chemical stability: Stable under normal storage conditions. Slow hydrolysis in presence of water.
Thermal stability: The substance decomposes exothermally with moderate energy (20-30J/g) at temperatures above 175°C (air atmosphere).
Hazardous reactions : When handled and stored appropriately no dangerous reactions are known.
Conditions to avoid : No conditions to be specially mentioned.
Materials to avoid : Keep away from strong acids and bases.

Disposal considerations

Product : Special waste incineration plant, after consultation with operators. Observe local authority regulations
Contaminated packaging : Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste. For disposal local regulation is binding.
