Remarks:
No inhibition observed at the highest test substance concentration.
Details on results:
At the test substance concentration of 1.4 mg/L no inhibition on the growth (biomass) could be observed. The NOEC based on the biomass was determined to 1.4 mg/L (72 h). No inhibition on the growth rate has been observed at the highest test substance concentration (2.4 mg/L saturated solution). Therefore the effect concentration based on growth rate are above the highest tested test substance concentration.
Reported statistics and error estimates:
The inhibition rate has been calculated by comparison of the areas under growth curve.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
not specified
Conclusions:
Within the highest concentration which could be obtained under the conditions of the test no effect could be observed at the highest concentration achieved under test conditions (2.4 mg/L) . Thus on the basis of cell growth, a mean effective concentration can be calculated to 72 h EbC50: > 2.4 mg/L (highest concentration under test conditions). On the basis of the growth rate, a mean effective concentration can be calculated to (0 - 72 h) ErC50: > 2.4 mg/L (highest concentration under test conditions). The NOEC value is 1.4 mg/L (based on cell growth). All concentrations are based on the substance.
