Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Short-term aquatic toxicity data are available for two trophic levels (aquatic invertebrates and aquatic algae). The acute effect value, EC50 for Daphnia is 0.33 mg/L and the ErC50 for Algae >0.31 mg/L. Based on Daphnia with an EC50 value of <1.0 mg/L, the substance needs to be classified for acute aquatic hazard, Category Acute 1, H400: Very toxic to aquatic life (CLP 2008, and its amendments: Table 4.1.0 (a)).

As there are no adequate chronic toxicity data available, acute toxicity data needs to be assessed for long term aquatic toxicity in combination with biodegradability and/or log Kow (CLP 2008, and its amendments: Figure 4.1.1. and Table 4.1.0(b)iii). In view of the substance having a log Kow of 6.6, despite being readily biodegradable, and acute Daphnia toxicity data of < 1 mg/l (0.33 mg/l), the substance needs to be classified as Category Chronic 1 according to Table 4.1.0(b)iii. Therefore for long-term aquatic hazard, the substance is classified as Category Chronic 1, H410: Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects, according to Regulation 1272/2008/EC (CLP) and its amendments.
