Description of key information

The aquatic effects of Tetrahydronaphthalene on fish were tested in a 96h semi-static study with Brachydanio rerio according to Directive 92/96/ECC, C.1. (Scholz, 1995). A series of 5 concentrations were tested: 3.5, 5.0, 7.0, 10 and 14 mg/L (geometric mean of two anslysis after 0 and 24 hours: 1.5, 2.4, 3.7, 9.1 and 7.9 mg/L ). The results are based on the geometrical means of the test concentrations measured at  0 and 24 h since the test item concentration deviated by more than 20% after 24 hours. The LC50(96h) was determined to be 3.2 mg/L.

Additional information

The lowest LC50 value of 3.2 mg/L was estimated after 96h by graphical / visual evaluation. The LC0 (equivalent to NOEC) was determined as 2.4 mg/l and the LC100 as 7.9 mg/l.
