The rate constant for the OH sensitized photodegradation of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene was measured as (3.43 +- 0.06) x 1E-11 cm3/(molec. x s). At 500,000 OH radicals / cm3 (typical 24-hour mean in central Europe), this corresponds to a half-life of 11.2 hours. Hydrolysis under environmental conditions can be excluded based on structural considerations.
