Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Vapour pressure [1-(tert-butyldimethylsilyl)piperazine]: 3.2 Pa at 25°C (QSAR)

Vapour pressure [tert-butyldimethylsilanol]: 64 Pa at 25°C (QSAR)

Vapour pressure [piperazine]: 21 Pa at 20°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
3.2 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

A vapour pressure value of 3.2 Pa at 25°C was predicted for the substance using a validated QSAR estimation method. The result is considered to be reliable.

In contact with water, the substance undergoes very rapid hydrolysis to form tert-butyldimethylsilanol and piperazine.

The vapour pressure of the silanol hydrolysis product, tert-butyldimethylsilanol has been predicted to be 64 Pa at 25°C using the same validated QSAR estimation method as the parent substance.

Piperazine has a reported vapour pressure of 21 Pa at 20°C (Kirk-Othmer 1978).
