Description of key information

Non-GLP estimation of Log Pow as > 3.9 at 20 degrees Centigrade
GLP guideline study reporting mean weighted average Log Pow 5.32 at 40 degrees Centigrade (OECD 117)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
at the temperature of:
40 °C

Additional information

An unreliable non-GLP study estimated Log Pow for aromatic components of the test substance as > 3.9 allowing for a possible ten-fold error in the determination of water solubility. However, a recent GLP study showed that, under the chromatographic conditions employed, the test substance eluted as three resolved regions. The three regions had broad elution profiles with mean Log Pow ranges of < 1.0 to 4.87, 4.87 to 6.47 and 6.47 to 7.50 (extrapolated), respectively. The mean weighted average Log Pow of the test substance was calculated to be 5.32 ± 0.31 log units (N = 3, CV = 5.88 %) at 40 degrees Centigrade.
