Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The biodegradation in water was investigated following the OECD Guideline 301 F (Ready Biodegradability: Manometric Respirometry Test), the EU Method C.4 -D (Determination of the "Ready" Biodegradability - Manometric Respirometry Test) and Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 of the European Parliament and the Council of 31 March 2004 on detergents.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

The results show that "Sulfonation products of (esterification products of C9-11 (branched and linear) alkyl-(mono-, di- and tri-)glycosides with maleic anhydride) with disodium sulfite" attained a maximum mean level of biodegradation (based on the BOD:COD ratio) of 63%.

More than 60% degradation was achieved within 28 days, so the substance can be classified as readily biodegradable .
