Isononyl isononanoate is determined to be readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria in one confirmatory GLP-Guideline study. The substance is thus expected to be rapidly degraded by microorganisms in both the aquatic and terrestrial environments as well, and therefore in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, column 2, 9.2.1.2. - 9.2.1.4., further simulation tests for water and sediment or soil biodegradation are not necessary.
