Comments:
Under the conditions of this present test, the test
substance was not toxic to waste water (activated sludge)
bacteria at the loading rate of 100 mg/l, the regulatory
limit concentration.

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
Under the conditions of this present test, Reaction products of Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18-unsatd. and reaction mass of 1,3-alkanediol, 2-(hydroxymethyl)-2-[(methoxymethoxy)methyl]- and 1,3-heteromonocycle-5,5-dimethanol was not toxic to waste water (activated sludge) bacteria at the loading rate of 100 mg/l, the regulatory limit concentration.

Description of key information

The study was performed according to OECD Guideline 209 and GLP principles.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
100 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

The respiration rate of activated sludge was investigated according to OECD test guideline 209. The sludge was exposed to Radia 7853 with a contact time of 3 hours, at a final loading rate of 100 mg/l. No significant inhibition of respiration rate of the sludge was recorded at the loading rate of 100 mg/l, thus no further testing was required. Hence, the EC50 of Rqadia 7853 was >100 mg/l (nominal) and the NOEC was determined to be 100 mg/l.
