L-isoleucine was determined to be readily biodegradable based on a BOD5/COD ratio of 1.6 (>> 0.5), and based on read-across from a recent GLP and OECD guideline study on L-valine.

Hydrolysis is not a relevant pathway due to the lack of hydrolysable groups.

Bioaccumulation of L-isoleucine can be excluded based on its low log Kow of -1.72.

Likewise, from this low log Kow value, a low tendency to bind to soil can be predicted.
