One experimental study according to OECD 301D indicated that the substance is not readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria. A degradation of 0% was recorded after 28 d. The degradation via abiotic hydrolysis is not considered to be a relevant degradation pathway in the environment. The substance does not contain any hydrolysable groups and is considered to be stable in contact with water. Considering the water solubility of 3.9 g/L and a low potential for adsorption (log Koc: 1.81 - 1.91, mean: 1.86, KOCWIN v2.00), the surface water is expected to be the main target for environmental distribution of the substance. However, the vapour pressure of 224 Pa at 20 °C (EU Method A.4) and a Henry's Law constant of 9.546 Pa m³/mole indicating that the substance is expected to volatilize slowly from the water phase to the atmospheric compartment.
