Additional information

A study was conducted to determine the ready biodegradability of the read across substance, benzenesulfonic acid, C10-13-alkyl derivs., sodium salts in water according to OECD Guideline 301B, in compliance with GLP. Non-adapted, activated sludge was exposed to an initial test substance concentration of 34.3 mg/L for 29 d under aerobic conditions. Sampling of the test samples was performed after 0, 2, 5, 9, 12, 14, 21, 28, and 29 d. A positive control (benzoic acid, sodium salt) and a negative control (blanks) were included in the experiment. The results of the controls were within the expected ranges and the validity criteria were fulfilled. The test substance was degraded up to 85% in 29 d. Under the study conditions, the substance was considered to be readily biodegradable (Anon., 2002).
