Citronella (Cymbopogon winterianus) oil is a Natural Complex Substance (NCS) for which 99.93% of the constituents is identified. The constituents are mainly monoterpenoid aldehydes, cyclic monoterpenes and alcohols. The assessment of the biodegradability is based on the information for its constituents. 92.5% of the constituents comprising the typical composition of this NCS are in the category of ready biodegradable substances. Therefore, Citronella (Cymbopogon winterianus) oil is considered to be readily biodegradable.
