Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the oxidising properties study (required in section 7.13) does not need to be conducted as none of the known constituents of Cymbopogon winterianus oil (Limonene, Citronellal, Geraniol, Citronellol, Geranyl acetate, Camphene, Linalol, beta Caryophyllene, Sabinene, beta Myrcene, Ocimene, Isopulegol, neo-Isopulegol, Citronellyl acetate, Cadinenes, Terpineol, Borneol, alpha-Pinene, beta-Elemene, Elemol, Germacrene D, Eugenol Geranial, Muurolol, Nerol, Terpinolene, Decanal, Farnesol, beta-Phellandrene, Neryl acetate, p-Cymene) contain oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded to oxygen and nitrogen atoms. Thus according to Technical Guidance Document 7A it can be concluded beyond a reasonable doubt that Cymbopogon winterianus oil is not an oxidizing liquid capable of causing fire or enhancing the risk of fire when in contact with combustible material.
