- 17.5 mg/L
Additional information
The study was conducted with one replicate vessel with seven fish per test level exposed to nominal test concentrations of 0 (water control), 1.9, 3.8, 7.5, 15, and 30 mg/L, over a 96-hour static exposure period. The fish were observed at approximately 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours for mortality and sublethal effects. Temperatures during the exposure period were 13°C. Dissolved oxygen levels ranged from 7.4-9.0 mg/L (72-87% oxygen saturation). The pH ranged from 6.6-7.6 and the light intensity ranged from 374-817 lux.
The final reported acute toxicity values for rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) exposed to 1,4- CHDM DGE, over a 96-hour static exposure period and based on mean measured concentrations, were as follows:
The 24-hour LC50 = 17.5 mg/L (95% confidence interval 13.4 – 22.8 mg/L);
The 48-hour LC50 = 10.1 mg/L (95% confidence interval unreliable);
The 72-hour LC50 = 10.1 mg/L (95% confidence interval unreliable);
The 96-hour LC50 = 10.1 mg/L (95% confidence interval unreliable);
96-hour NOEC = 3.38 mg/L (Based on the highest concentration exhibiting no significant mortality or sublethal effects);
