Additional information

Sodium triacetoxyborohydride was shown to be readily biodegradable, but more important it decomposes immediately in contact with water in with a half-life of 38-85 seconds by liberating hydrogen and acetate and boric acid as final products. Thus, the environmental fate of Sodium triacetoxyborohydride is driven boric acid. However, boric acid is inorganic and has a low high water solubility (49 g/L) and a low log Kow (-1.09) and therefore the potential for adsorption can be regarded as low.
