Reference
Endpoint:
oxidising solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
02.11.2015-16.11.2015
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.17 (Oxidising Properties (Solids))
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
Based on earlier studies the test substance was not dried. The reason is that the test substance contents high hydrophilic sulfonate salts that rapidly bind air humidity. This deviation has no negative impact on the study results.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Name of test material (as cited in study report): Reactive Red 45:1
- Physical state: red solid powder
- Analytical purity: 85% (w/w)
- Impurities (identity and concentrations): NaCl (CAS: 7647-14-5) 15% (w/w)
- Lot/batch No.: 7010
- Expiration date of the lot/batch: unlisted
- Storage condition of test material: The test substance should be stored in dry room in dark in closed container at the room temperature.
Contact with:
powdered cellulose
Duration of test (contact time):

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
On basis of the result obtained from trial test, it is obvious that none of the test substance mixtures with cellulose burned all distance of 200 mm of the pile. Thus test substance, Reactive Red 45:1, shouldn´t be considered as a substance with oxidizing properties.
Executive summary:

The oxidizing properties of test substance, Reactive Red 45:1, were determined.

The procedure was performed according to the Method A.17 Oxidizing properties (Solids),Council Regulation (EC) No.440/2008, published in O.J. L 142, 2008.

On basis of the result obtained from trial test, it is obvious that none of the test substance mixtures with cellulose burned all distance of 200 mm of the pile. Thus test substance, Reactive Red 45:1, shouldn´t be considered as a substance with oxidizing properties.

Description of key information

Reactive Red 45:1 is considered non oxidising.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

The oxidizing properties of test substance, Reactive Red 45:1, were determined. The procedure was performed according to the Method A.17 Oxidizing properties (Solids). On the basis of the result obtained from the trial test, it is obvious that none of the test substance mixtures with cellulose burned all distance of 200 mm of the pile. Thus the test substance, Reactive Red 45:1, should not be considered as a substance with oxidizing properties.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on available data the test substance, Reactive Red 45:1, does not have oxidising properties and is not classified.
