Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials
Endpoint:
oxidising gases
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
oxidising solids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid

Description of key information

In accordance with the Column 2 adaptation in Section 7.13 of Annex VII of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), it is considered justified to omit the oxidising properties study based on a structural assessment of the substance. From the structural formula it can be concluded that the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials and the substance does not possess any functional groups associated with oxidising properties. There are also no concerns relating to oxidising properties from experience in use.

The oxidising study for gases and solids is technically not feasible as the substance is a liquid.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex I, Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, the substance does not require classification with respect to oxidising properties.
